| the opportunity to learn about unique and successful national and international transportation projects. |
- Bring together public agencies, engineering consultants, transportation planners, research institutions, and transportation providers;
- Enhance cooperation between public agencies and private entities who are stakeholders in the region’s transportation infrastructure;
- Create awareness about current and future regional transportation needs; and
- Develop a public/private partnership for the creation of educational opportunities by creating a scholarship endowment at the University of Houston.

Transportation professionals recognize the need to partner with educational and research institutions to meet current and future challenges. For this purpose one of the conference objectives is to raise funds and
create scholarship endowments that will provide permanent scholarships at the University of Houston for area high school graduates wanting to pursue a career in transportation engineering. |
