Current legislation is calling for a two-year moratorium in all public private partnerships that would allow private entities to fund future toll roads. Mr. Simmons will provide a legislative update and status on CDAs.

The TxDOT Houston District has 12 thousand lane miles of roads which has to be operated and maintained. One of the current challenges is its funding as well as funding of new lanes.

The Harris County Toll Road Authorities has been successful in providing much needed roadway infrastructure. Recently HCTRA and TxDOT have formulated new agreements which, along with proposed state legislaton, might provide toll road authorities first choice in developing new highways.
